Pneumatic Airshafts
Carbonlite
have over 20 years experience in manufacturing air operated reel shafts
in steel, aluminium and lightweight carbon fibre. Tell us your problem
and we will supply the correct airshaft to meet your needs. We pioneered
the use of carbon fibre for lightweight shafts - with an unequalled
strength to weight ratio over other materials. Especially important
when you need to comply with the latest Lifting and Handling legislation.
The Carbonlite range of airshafts is used by a wide variety of industries
throughout the world in sizes which will accommodate cores from 1.5"
(38mm) diameter up to 12" (300mm) within our range of standard
sizes. Larger diameters can be supplied as special orders.
Capacity
Carbonlite airshafts are manufactured from tubes with three alternate
wall thicknesses which minimises the need for multiple pressure pad
sizes.
Three-inch (75mm) reel bars with a 1500mm load length will accept
500kg.
Six-inch (150mm) reel bars with a 1500mm load length will accept
1000kg.
The maximum diameter of reel bar we can supply is twenty inches (500mm).
Materials
Comparison
Carbonlite carbon fibre airshafts have a specific stiffness up to
20 times greater than steel shafts. Will this help you comply with
Lifting and Handling legislation?
Journals
All our journals are machined from Alloy steels which can be hardened
at potential wear points, reducing your maintenance costs.
Lugs
Carbonlite airshafts use rubber lugs as standard. Various lug patterns
are used from standard 3-row offset to 6-row offset, depending on
application.
Moulded rubber lugs are most frequently used but composite steel lugs
are fitted when necessary.
