Coating and Laminating
- Narrow Web

CCE Carbonlite NWC300 & NWC400 Narrow Web Coating Machines
The NWC300 and NWC400 narrow web coating machines have been designed for shorter run printing, as proofing machines and for laboratory testing purposes used in a wide range of applications including holographic security work. They can coat or laminate a wide range of paper and filmic substrates.

The Narrow Web Coating machines are supplied with pneumatically operated reel bars. These can be cantilevered for trouble free loading and unloading of lighter reels or supported at both ends for heavier reels.

Unwind Station
The web is delivered from an unpowered air operated CCE reel shaft with tension applied by an operator controlled pneumatic brake adjusted by a panel mounted regulator.

Options: Edge guide control improving the quality of the rewound coil after coating.

Automatic tension control with load cells monitoring the unwind tension and automatically controlling the pneumatically operated brake on the reel shaft.

Coating Station
The coating head is a reverse gravure kiss coating type with doctor blade. The gravure roller is quickly and easily removed for cleaning or replacement. The gravure roller will normally coat a 50% solids adhesive at 6gsm but variations can be incorporated to specification. Manual top-up of glue tray.

Options: Standard gravure coating with doctor blade.
Variable coating patterns on extra gravure roller assemblies with short changeover times.
Continuously pumped glue supply system.
Hot melt head.
Flexo Printing.

Laminating Nip
The laminating nip is unheated but powered. Nip pressure is applied through a hand operated wheel. The nip can also function as a draw roll, depending on the web path.

Options: Pneumatically operated nip.

Drying Tunnels

Two drying tunnels each comprising a 900mm long air impingement units with a combined airflow of 500cfm and a 9kw heating capability in each. Temperature control is by internal resistance thermometers and PID controllers.

Options: The two units can be controlled as separate drying zones.
If required the drying capacity can be increased by adding more units.
